Our story
The Irving DFW Indian Lions Club was chartered in 1996 by a group of Indian-American families who had settled in Irving and wanted a structured way to give back to the city that welcomed them. Meeting first in living rooms and later in community halls, the founding Lions built a club that blends the service traditions of Lions Clubs International with the cultural warmth of the Indian diaspora.
Over thirty years, the club has run vision screenings and eyeglass drives, diabetes and heart-health camps, food distributions, disaster relief collections, youth scholarships and cultural festivals that raise funds for causes across North Texas. Along the way we grew into a family of three units — the parent Club, the Irving DFW Indian Lions Branch Club, and the Irving DFW Indian Lions Leo Club for young leaders aged 12 to 30.
Today the club continues to answer the Lions call, “We Serve,” alongside more than 1.4 million Lions in over 200 countries and geographic areas.
